Dr. Naima Naheed is a Professor of Mathematics in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Benedict College, where she has served in multiple faculty roles since 2009. She earned her Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Memphis in 2009, following master's degrees in Mathematics and Physics, and her scholarly work spans nonlinear dynamics, machine learning, digital image processing, numerical linear algebra, and deep learning. Dr. Naheed has published widely in these areas, collaborating with undergraduate researchers and presenting at national and international conferences including ABRCMS, JMM, APS-DPP, and CSCI. She has secured several research grants—including SCICU awards, an NSF-funded CURM grant, and a Visiting Faculty Fellowship at Los Alamos National Laboratory—and has mentored more than 26 undergraduate STEM students. A dedicated educator, she teaches a broad range of undergraduate mathematics courses and contributes extensive service to her institution, including chairing the Library Committee and serving on the Data and Assessment and International Programs Advisory Committees, reflecting her deep commitment to advancing STEM education and student success.
